Honor 5X: Camera Images (part 2)

As promised, here are some more photos from the Honor 5X along with some more observations.

The Honor 5X’s 13-megapixel camera has proved to be a bit of a mixed bag. For outdoor shots, HDR has enabled some well-balanced photos of buildings on a bright sunny day, but increase the level of detail in the photo (for example, trees and grass) and it all becomes rather blurred and washed out in HDR or normal mode.

The results remind me a lot of similar photos taken on older Sony Xperia models, which is perhaps not surprising given the fact that the Honor 5X is using a Sony image sensor.

Indoor photos and close-ups are fairly free of noise, and the LED light does a reasonable job of lighting up objects that are nearby.

Take a look at the photos below and judge for yourself. I’ll do further tests with moving subjects, and video, when I complete my review.
