[Updated] Honor Magic 8 series launch for UK starts with a Magic 8 Lite teaser
Honor is almost ready to bring the new Magic 8 Series devices to UK consumers, and the first model to drop – perhaps literally – will be the Magic 8 Lite.
Designed to be even more rugged than last year’s Magic 7 Lite (which went through a series of abusive tests and demonstrations, including being thrown onto the floor before getting run over by a quad bike), the Magic 8 Lite has been designed to withstand even more abuse – including a drop from as high as 2.5 metres!
According to Honor;
The device introduces HONOR Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop Technology and new ultra-deep tempered glass, achieving an industry-first SGS Triple Resistant Premium Performance Certification. This sits alongside its SGS 5-Star Comprehensive Reliability Certification, meaning it can withstand drops from heights of up to 2.5 metres onto certain surfaces.
The Magic8 Lite also features a Three-layer Water Resistance Structure, allowing it to endure extreme water environments including rinsing, splashing and even boiling water for up to 10 seconds.
UPDATE: Honor has also added more information today – announcing that the Magic 8 Lite will be released with a huge 7,500mAh silicon-carbon battery for up to three days of battery life. This equates to as much as 52.5 hours of music streaming, 23.8 hours of online video playback, 16.8 hours of gaming, and 12.3 hours of video chat on a single charge – with the phone having 66W wired charging to get back to full in no time. There’s 7.5W reverse wired charging to boost up other devices too. Honor also claims that even when down to 2% battery remaining, you could still maintain a call for up to an hour!!
It will be available in three colours: Forest Green, Midnight Black, and Reddish Brown – with more information on the device coming soon.
