Oppo’s Executive Director Michael Tran kept the finer details of the forthcoming Oppo Find X2 secret, but did hint at some of what users have to look forward to in his teaser statement:

“2020 is gearing up to be an exciting year for Oppo. Not only are we set to expand our portfolio of smart devices with products such as smart headphones and smart watches, we will also be launching our next-generation flagship smartphone,

“With the Find X2, we wanted to push the boundaries of what’s possible with a smartphone. We know that more and more consumers are using their devices to play games or consume content on the go. We feel confident that the Find X2 will provide them with the most immersive experience possible to do so.”

The original Find X used the flagship, at the time, Snapdragon 845 chipset and utilised an advanced pop-up selfie camera with a range of sensors. It also sported a notch-free display and curved glass display.

Suffice to say, we’ll have to wait until 2020 to find out more about the follow-up phone.

Oppo has already hinted at a series of big announcements at Mobile World Congress, taking place in Barcelona at the end of February. It also talked of another 5G handset coming, using Qualcomm’s more mainstream Snapdragon 765G chipset.
