The latest smartwatch from Honor is designed to ‘unleash your athletic potential’ with a traditional looking design inspired by the racing world.
With over 120 sport modes and an AI assistant to step in to offer guidance, plus incredible battery life, the 41g aluminium bodied watch (that is just 10.99mm thick) offers something for every budding athlete, or indeed those just wanting the basic health tracking features we’ve come to expect from all smartwatches today.
The sports tracking goes further still with a range of professional modes, including Football and Badminton.
In football mode, you simply upload the pitch area, allowing the watch to track movements throughout the game – with an automatically generated post-match summary that shows your trajectories and heat map on the pitch. It supports 5-a-side or full 11-a-side, as well as fun games in your local park.
For badminton players, all of your shots including swing speed and accuracy can be measured and also summarised.
Trail running modes and climbing planning help with runs, including vertical speed tracking – while for those out walking and running, if you set up your planned route in advance, the watch can automatically alert you if you deviate from the route.
The Watch 6 also includes NFC and support for mobile (contactless) payments will be added later in the year.
Other features include a 3,000 nits peak brightness display, short video clips that can be used as watch face backgrounds, dual-phone pairing to give notifications on more than one device, an AI recorder to take voice notes, plus gesture controls to manage specific functions (such as twisting your wrist to silence alarms or manage calls).
Although the Honor Watch 6 has a retail price of £249.99, it will be launched with an £80 discount and accessory bundle worth a further £59.99.
