EE launches same day smartphone delivery and set-up service

EE logoEE has launched the UK’s very first same-day smartphone delivery service, which comes with an expert set-up service provided by a new tech-expert company called Enjoy.

Initially available to people within greater London and expanding over time, the service is part of a new approach by EE to provide personal and local support for its customers.

EE was recently named the UK’s best network by RootMetrics for the fifth year in a row.

Both new and upgrading EE customers on pay-monthly contracts can purchase selected flagship smartphones to be delivered as quickly as two-hours later (if ordered before 5pm), simply by selecting ‘superfast delivery with expert set-up’ before checking out on EE’s online store.

Customers wanting help setting up the new device, or even doing things like connecting to their car or smart home products, will get expert set-up from a member of the Enjoy team.

This also includes additional services like transferring over contacts, photos, applications, or simply being told about new handset features.

Enjoy is a new company based out of California, offering on-demand delivery and set-up services, which is now setting up in the UK, starting with greater London and expanding as time goes on.

EE’s own research shows that 60% of Brits don’t use all the features on their phone, by simply not having time to learn about them. Almost half claim to have lost personal data, with the fear of having problems when changing phone being responsible for delaying or even preventing people from upgrading at all.

Given the slow down of users upgrading, EE must be hopeful that this will be a good way to encourage people to upgrade their handset more often, but would it entice you to change your phone earlier than normal?
