Oppo launches gaming focussed Ace 2 in China, with 40W wireless and 65W wired charging
Oppo has announced the Ace 2 in China, featuring class-leading wired and wireless charging solutions.
The Ace 2 incorporates two of Oppo’s fastest charging technologies; 40W AirVOOC wireless flash charging (with 10W reverse wireless charging), and Super VOOC 2.0 65W wired charging technology, as used in devices like the Oppo Find X2 Pro.
The handset also comes with a quad-camera array, Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 865 5G chipset, a 90Hz display, up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 storage.
Oppo is pitching the Ace 2 at gamers, with Oppo VP and President of Global Marketing, Brian Shen stating: “The launch of Oppo Ace (2) is to show our love and care towards hardcore players. Ace represents more than just Oppo’s gaming vision – rather it’s the high-performance device we created together with game players. Each breakthrough will be full of imagination bringing our users the most cutting-edge technologies, the best design and the most fun experience, in response to their ardent attention.”
Fastest Charging 5G Smartphone
The Oppo Ace 2 can give two hours of gaming from just five minutes of wired charging, or one hour if using wireless charging.
The 4,000mAh battery can be charged from 0% to 100% in just 56 minutes via wireless.
Top level gaming
Nobody wants a heavy device in their hand for gaming, so the Ace 2 weighs in at just 185g. This makes it one of the lightest flagship 5G handsets on the market.
The 6.55-inch AMOLED display comes with a 90Hz refresh rate (and the power to maintain 90 frames-per-second in compatible games), a 180Hz touch sampling rate, and 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut.
The HDR10+ screen can also go up to an incredible 1100 nits, so it can remain perfectly visible in just about every conceivable environment.
Chilled out
According to Oppo, in order to keep things cool, the phone has 4D constant cooling technology, adopting an ultra large T-shaped VC thermal board and new heat storage materials for heat dissipation.
The phone also offers 4D vibration to match various gaming scenarios and offer a more engaging gaming experience, joined with dual-stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos.
The Oppo Ace2 comes with three colour options (grey, purple and silver) and three configurations: 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB.
The handset goes on sale in China only from April 20th, but if it comes to the UK or Europe, I’ll be sure to let you know.
