Honor Magic 7 Pro launches with promise to revolutionise the photography experience
Honor has today launched the flagship Honor Magic 7 Pro smartphone, with a heaving sprinkling of AI magic throughout – with a lot of it working around the camera.
AI, AI, AI.. I bet you’re sick of every manufacturer feeling forced to jump on the hype train so as not to look out of place – but the Magic 7 Pro is promising new features that are actually worthwhile!
One of the killer features of the Honor Magic 7 Pro is the use of Ai to enhance photos taken using digital zoom (find out more on this later, as there is an embargo on publishing camera images until later in the week).
The Magic 7 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, and packs in some incredible cameras, a toughened screen and chassis, water, dust and extreme temperature resistance, plus a large battery with fast charging either wired or wireless.
While not marketed as being as tough at the Honor Magic 7 Lite, it is still given a SGS Certification for drop resistance.
It’s another flagship release that also comes with a significant early bird discount, with a number of extras bundled in – see below for more information.
There are so many AI features, it would take ages to list them all in great detail (that will have to wait for the full review) but highlights for the camera include AI Super Zoom that uses a combination of onboard and offboard processing to enhance photos that have traditionally been rather disappointing in most scenarios.
There’s AI enhanced portrait photos, HD Super Burst that captures full-sized images at 10 frames per second so you are sure to capture the perfect moment. The Magic 7 Pro also retains the AI motion sensing capture feature from previous models that will seek to take a photo at the right moment, whether someone is running or jumping – or maybe movement from a child or pet.
The Magic 7 Pro comes with a series of productivity based AI features too, and is all built on Magic OS 9 (itself built on Android 15).
The phone measures 162.7 x 77.1 x 8.8mm and weighs 223g, and is powered by a 3nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC with Adreno 830 GPU. It has 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage (UFS 4.0).
A 6.8-inch screen with 1280×2800 pixels maxes out at 5,000 nits peak brightness, with LTPO 0-120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision and HDR.
Rear cameras consist of a 50-megapixel f/1.4-2.0 wide camera, with dual pixel PDAF and OIS, a 200-megapixel f/2.6 3x Periscope telephoto camera with dual pixel PDAF and OIS, and a 50-megapixel f/2.0 ultrawide (122 degrees) with dual pixel PDAF.
On the front is a 50-megapixel f/2.0 selfie camera and Time-of-Flight 3D camera for depth and biometric sensing.
The phone supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, USB-C 3.2 with DisplayPort 1.2, and has a 5,270mAh battery (not 5,850mah like the Chinese version – due to different internals such as RF shielding requirements) with 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging.

Pricing & Availability
The Honor Magic 7 Pro will retail for €1299 in Europe, with UK pricing at £1099. It will be available to buy on contract with EE, O2, Three and Vodafone – as well as at Amazon, Argos, Very, Currys and Honor’s own website. The phone can be purchased in one of three colours.
The UK will be offering at least £300 off with an early bird discount voucher, along with a 100W SuperCharge power adapter, 180 days of replacement without the need for repair, and screen damage protection cover (one service in 180 days). For an even more limited time, Honor is also offering a free MagicPad 2 worth £499.99.
