Vodafone publishes its 5G coverage ahead of July network switch-on

Following on from Vodafone’s recent announcement relating to its 5g switch-on date (July 3rd), the company is now allowing customers to check 5G coverage on its website.

You can perform your own searches by visiting the Vodafone Network Status checker, with the option to view coverage now and planned in the next three months.

London

The UK cities covered at launch will include Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool and London.

Liverpool

By the end of 2019, it will include Birkenhead, Blackpool, Bournemouth, Guildford, Newbury, Portsmouth, Plymouth, Reading, Southampton, Stoke-on-Trent, Warrington and Wolverhampton.

As you can see, the coverage is rather patchy to begin with but things should start to improve at a fairly rapid rate once the network is up and running.

Vodafone has stated there will be no premium to access 5G, but it will be launching a series of new tariffs in the coming weeks to offer more data options.

Meanwhile, EE is expected to announce its own 5G switch-on date and other details at a meeting taking place later this morning (May 22nd 2019). Further information will be posted as soon I can get more information.
