Realme launches X2 Pro powerhouse: An affordable premium phone that doesn’t scrimp on features

Realme has today launched the X2 Pro, a flagship smartphone that doesn’t hold back when it comes to throwing in features.

If you’re unsure who Realme is, don’t worry. The company is part of the same parent company behind OnePlus, Vivo, and Oppo.

They’ve already been in the UK a while, but now they’re going for a major push throughout Europe.

Realme might be looked upon as the entry level sub-brand, but then they go and launch a phone with Snapdragon 855 Plus, 50W fast charging and a 90Hz fluid display.

Priced at between €399 and €499, depending on RAM and storage options, the phone is yet another attack on the more expensive smartphones on the market with equal, or sometimes even inferior, specifications.

RAM options begin at 6GB and end at 12GB, so definitely high-spec, while storage ranges from 64GB to 256GB. Colours include lunar white and neptune blue.

The 6.5-inch AMOLED Full HD+ display sounds absolutely incredible, with a peak brightness of 1000 nits (same as the recently launched OnePlus 7T) and the same 90Hz refresh rate that every company in the industry is now trying to get in on. It is HDR10+ rated too, as if the rest wasn’t already enough.

Oh and behind the display is one of the fastest in-glass fingerprint sensors too. 0.23 seconds to detect and unlock apparently.

The Realme X2 Pro should equally impress when it comes to the camera set up, with a 64-megapixel (Samsung made) primary camera – designed to produce clean 16-megapixel photos using pixel binning, a 13-megapixel 2x telephoto camera with hybrid 20x zoom, plus a 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera with macro facility. There’s 4K video recording and super-slow motion support too.

The front facing camera almost seems quite ordinary at just 16-megapixels.

Finally, the 4,000mAh battery inside the X2 Pro can be charged in just 35 minutes with the 50W SuperVOOC charger.
