Qualcomm has added another high-end chipset to its collection, which now includes a 5G capable chipset in all of its tiers.
The new chipset, which sits above last year’s flagship Snapdragon 865 and 865 Plus, and just below the new Snapdragon 888, will be used by device manufacturers including Motorola, iQOO, OnePlus, Oppo, and Xiaomi.
It offers a new prime core clock speed of up to 3.2GHz, improved AI, global 5G (sub-6 and mmWave) and Elite gaming performance.

SAN DIEGO — January 19, 2021 — Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. unveiled the Qualcomm® SnapdragonTM 870 5G Mobile Platform, a follow-on to the flagship Snapdragon 865 Plus, which features an enhanced Qualcomm® KryoTM 585 CPU prime core clock speed of up to 3.2 GHz.
