Extra-slim OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G announced; will sell for under £300

The latest addition to the Nord family sees the Nord CE 2 5G coming out at just £299.99 and it has a headphone jack and memory card slot!

It’s getting increasingly competitive in the mid-range tier, with a lot of OnePlus’ competition coming from other brands under the BBK umbrella.

This latest launch brings a slim (7.8mm) phone that comes with a load of creature comforts, like a decent 64-megapixel triple camera array, 6.43-inch AMOLED 90Hz display with HDR10+, a 4,500mAh battery with 65W wired-charging (getting to 100% from empty in 32 minutes), and MediaTek’s 6nm Dimensity 900 platform.

This platform not only gives the Nord CE 2 5G connectivity, but also Wi-Fi 6 support, plus the phone comes with not only two SIM slots but a third one for a microSDXC memory card to boost up the integrated 128GB of storage.

There’s even a headphone jack for die-hard audio fans that don’t want another accessory they need to remember to keep charged.

The phone will be available with 8+128GB and in a choice of two colours; Gray Mirror (with a mirror-like finish) and Bahama Blue (a smooth gradient finish that transitions between blue and yellow).

The phone will cost £299 with pre-ordering starting on March 3rd and the device going on general sale March 10th – from OnePlus.com, Amazon, and John Lewis. It ships with Android 11 installed but will get an upgrade to Android 12 soon after, with OnePlus offering two years of OS updates and three years of security updates.
