The Huawei Nova series is back! Nova 5T comes to the UK in November
It’s been a while since the Nova series was available in the UK, but now – in its fifth generation – Huawei is once again bringing its powerful mid-range handsets to the UK.
The Nova 5T will go on sale in November at a retail price of £399, with availability at EE, Vodafone, O2, Carphone Warehouse, Argos, Amazon, John Lewis and Shops Direct.
For those who cannot remember back to the original Nova and Nova plus models, the Nova series generally offers the best of the mid-range models sold by Huawei and sub-brand Honor (including models like the P Smart series, Lite models etc).
For example, Huawei might offer a better camera on one model, and more RAM on another. In most cases, they’ll use a mid-range chipset from Huawei’s portfolio of processors.
The Nova 5T packs in a solid camera combination and the same powerful chipset that currently powers devices like the P30 Pro and Mate 20 Pro.
This means £399 gets you Kirin 980, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage and a quad-camera setup on the rear, coupled with AI functions like Super Night Mode, HDR+ and AI Image Stabilisation.
The display is a 6.26-inch Full HD+ display with a punch-hole 32-megapixel selfie camera in the top left.
On the rear are four cameras; a 48-megapixel primary camera, 16-megapixel wide-angle, 2-megapixel macro, and a further 2-megapixel bokeh camera.

The phone has a 3,750mAh battery and supports 25.5W Huawei Super Charging. It also ships with Android Pie (9) out of the box, but an upgrade to Android 10 and EMUI 10 will follow in the future.
Like the Honor 20 series models, the Nova 5T has an integrated fingerprint sensor on the side-mounted power button.
There will be a choice of three colour variants; Crush Blue, Dark Black and Midsummer Purple (pictured). All sport a holographic look that will definitely attract attention.
Finally, the Nova 5T will come with full access to Google Mobile Services.
