IFA 2020: Times for Asus, Honor, Huawei and Realme launch events

IFA is almost upon us, and while the organisers have chosen to go ahead with a limited number of attendees allowed in, I opted to sit things out this year.

That doesn’t mean the event won’t still see a number of announcements being made, albeit a lot less than usual, and below you can find a selection of events that will still be taking place.

Now you can sit and enjoy them from the safety of your own home…

The list is in chronological order! If you know of any other events, please let me know and I’ll add them in.

Asus

  • Time: September 2nd; 1800 UK Time
  • Stream: Asus

Huawei

What are we likely to see?

It’s not clear what Huawei may show off at IFA, given it has traditionally given a round up of the releases to date, along with details of the next-generation chipset that will be included within the forthcoming Mate series launch at a later date (usually the following month).

There could be new MateBooks, tablets and watches to come, as well as other devices like mobile broadband routers, speakers and more.

Huawei also has its developer conference starting September 10th and running through to September 12th, which will include some new product announcements on the opening day.

This will include details on not only new products, but updates to Harmony OS, EMUI 11 and Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) Core 5.0. You can find additional information here.

Key times: 0800-1000 UK Time for Keynote, 1300-1400 for Product Launch Event.

Honor

What are we likely to see?

New MagicBooks with the latest AMD 4000 series Ryzen chips, some new smart watches, plus two new tablets. Honor has already said as much in a teaser issued recently, but there could still be some additional surprises.

We’ll know very soon!

Realme

  • Time: September 4th; 1125 – 1210 UK Time
  • Stream: YouTube

What are we likely to see?

Realme is going to introduce its latest brand strategy and products, while will likely include a series of Realme 7 series phones.

Sky Li, founder and CEO of Realme stated: “Realme topped itself as the World’s top 7 in merely 18 months, and the global users have exceeded 45 million before 2nd anniversary. In IFA 2020, Realme will announce its latest brand and product plan to the world on the international stage, and continue to bring excellent products to everyone.”

I hope we might also see the first product to support Realme’s 125W UltraDART charge tech, plus there are likely to be a bunch of IoT products that will be launched to work alongside Realme smartphones.
