There are likely a lot of people who still don’t know the Vivo name, although anyone who visits this site will of course not be included, nor those who saw the branding emblazoned on everything in the recent Euro 2020 championship!
The data from Canalys, an industry analyst, estimates that Vivo has seen annual growth of 27% that has propelled it into fifth position, behind another BBK Electronics brand, Oppo in fourth place.
Samsung remains top, followed by Xiaomi, and then Apple in third place (with 19%, 17%, and 14% respectively).
Canalys also estimates that 5G smartphone shipments will overtake 4G shipments in 2022. That doesn’t seem surprising now that 5G is rapidly becoming the norm for new smartphone releases, filtering right down the price range to entry-level models selling for £100-150.
