Realme launches budget C31 and C35, brings some impressive specs to the low-end

Two budget phones from Realme have gone on sale today, with the sub-£150 Realme C35 still managing to sport a 50-megapixel primary camera, Full HD display, and high capacity battery.

The entry level smartphones each come with Realme UI R Edition, a cut-down version of Realme’s user interface that is based on Android 11 and is closer to vanilla Android, which the company claims will make the phone easier to use for its target market.

With prices starting at £149 for the C35 and £129 for the C31 (with both discounted by a further £10 between April 12th and 18th), these phones are not competing with most of the devices on sale today – but the C35 in particular still manages to come with things like a 50-megapixel primary camera, 5,000mAh battery with 18W wired charging (0-50% in 49 minutes), and a bright 6.6-inch Full HD+ display.

The C31 also gets the same large capacity battery, with both also coming with expandable storage and 3.5mm headphone jacks.

Both models are powered by Unisoc 12nm SoCs, with the T616 in the C35 producing an AnTuTu benchmark score of 230,726 (data provided from Realme’s press release). The C31’s T612 SoC isn’t far behind with a score of 202,439.

At 8.1mm thick, the C35 is also the slimmest smartphone in the market segment, with a choice of two colour options – glowing black and glowing green. The C31 is a little thicker at 8.4mm, with two colour choices of its own – light silver and dark green.

The C31 uses the older micro USB connector for charging.

Pricing and Availability

The Realme C35 is available in two storage variants: 4GB+64GB and 4GB+128GB, starting at £149.00 and £169.00 respectively.

The Realme C31 is available in a 4GB+64GB variant, starting at £129.

A launch flash sale runs from April 12th to 18th, taking off a further £10.
