New Sony software upgrade, including Android 4.4; KitKat, rolls for Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z

It has been a while coming (not helped by a few software issues along the way that delayed its roll out) but KitKat is now coming to most of the Xperia smartphones released in 2013 not already updated.

But if you can’t wait for the OTA update, pop along to Xda-developers where you can already down an unbranded FTF (10.5.A.0.230) for the Xperia Z (C6603) right away.

PC and Mac users can then flash the firmware in a matter of minutes using Flashtool. (Remember to de-select Wipe data if you want to keep all your existing data!)
