Realme announces first MediaTek Dimensity 1200 phone coming soon, plus a special offer on the 800U powered Realme 7 5G
Realme has two new flagships on the horizon, as well as a great deal on an existing 5G phone.
Following news of the new MediaTek Dimensity 1100 and 1200 chipsets, Realme has been quick to announce it has a flagship phone using the new Dimensity 1200 coming very soon.
The Realme X9 Pro will come with a 6.4-inch 120Hz OLED display, 108+13+13-megapixel cameras, 65W fast-charging and a 4,500mAh battery.
In addition, the company has also given some more information on its first Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 powered phone, the Realme Race Pro. ‘Race’ was the codename for this product, so we can likely expect this name to be changed ahead of release.
The Race Pro has a 6.8-inch OLED display with 160Hz refresh rate, 64+13+13 megapixel cameras, 125W fast-charging and a 5,000mAh battery – promising to be quite a beast, but almost certainly at a premium compared to the MediaTek model.
Whereas in the past you might have assumed that the MediaTek powered device was a budget phone with reduced functionality, the new Dimensity chips are bringing excellent performance and features that match, and sometimes even beat, the Qualcomm equivalents in their class.
Both phones will be released before the end of Q1 this year, and more details will be made available in the coming months.
Realme 7 5G Special Offer
Realme is also running a promotion that sees £30 knocked off the retail price of the Realme 7 5G – powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 800U chip, which I found outperformed its Qualcomm counterpart in my review.
The promotion runs from today to January 25th exclusively on Amazon that brings its retail price down to £249.
