Realme announces 150W charging speed for upcoming GT Neo 3; gives UK pricing for GT 2 series – starting at £399
Realme has today announced its latest UltraDart Charge 150W charging tech, and given the name to an actual phone that will soon offer this crazy-fast charging tech. It also confirmed pricing for the newly released GT 2 and GT 2 Pro.
Amazingly, Realme’s new UltraDart Charging Architecture (UDCA) has the scope to go as powerful as 200W, although that might be reserved for new laptops or tablets.
The GT Neo 3 isn’t yet ready to be officially announced, so there are no specs or prices revealed today, nor a release date, but it seems likely that it won’t make an appearance until the second half of 2022 if last year’s GT Neo 2 is anything to go by.
Realme has always offered incredible charging speeds on its devices, with the most basic models offering 18W power, but usually coming with 33W or 65W. Now, with 150W, the GT Neo 3 can be charged from 0-50% in just five minutes.
Realme explains how the tech works:
Firstly, UDCA provides the world with faster charging speeds. Specifically, the Ultra Fast Charging of UDCA utilises Multi Boost Charge Pumps to increase the charging current, enabling the smartphone to be charged faster. More than speed, UDCA also has outstanding safety and battery life performance.
In terms of safety, UDCA helps the smartphone always keep the temperature at an ideal level while charging. This is because realme’s UDCA has vital Ultra Heat Management built using a Temperature Management Algorithm to keep the thermal temperature below 43°C. Using this, users can play games or watch videos for long periods without potential safety hazards.
More importantly, UDCA also gives smartphones reliable Ultra Battery Protection. Generally, for other fast charging technology on the market, the high charging speed often comes at the expense of battery life. However, realme’s UDCA applies industry-leading lithium batteries to retain 80% battery capacity at 1000+ Complete Charge Cycles. This ensures the battery would have a longer life with higher maximum charging.

Realme GT 2 and GT 2 Pro for UK
Realme has now confirmed pricing and availability for its two new flagship models; the GT 2 and GT 2 Pro. These phones feature the class-leading Sony IMX766 image sensor, with Optical Image Stabilisation – a first for the company – as well as many other features previously ‘out of reach’ for the brand.
In addition to incredible camera performance, the GT 2 Pro features the first flat, 10bit, 2K AMOLED display with LTPO 2.0 (allowing adjustment of the screen refresh rate from 1 to 120Hz) and 1400 nits peak brightness.
Both models feature 5G, Wi-Fi 6, and a 5,000mAh battery with 65W wired-charging (and power supplies included in the fully recyclable packaging).
The 4nm Snapdragon 8 gen 1 in the GT 2 Pro offers a 30% peak performance uplift from last year’s Snapdragon 888 (scoring over one million in AnTuTu) – but if you don’t need all that performance, the GT 2 Pro offers the same power as last year flagship phones for £200 less!
realme GT 2 Pro is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Platform. It adopts advanced 4nm process technology and the world’s first ARM v9 architecture, delivering 30% peak performance and sustained efficiency promotions.
The latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Platform can reach over 1 million scores in AnTuTu.
realme GT 2 Pro features the industry’s largest heat dissipation area at a staggering 36761mm2 for up to 3 degrees Celsius of cooling to maximize the chip’s performance. The cooling area is constructed with an all-new 9-layer cooling structure with a 4129mm² Stainless Steel VC area, providing sustained peak performance.

The GT 2 series offer lots of eco-friendly credentials, and Realme is committed to reducing its carbon emissions by 50% in five years. With the GT series phones, it will minimise its full life-cycle carbon footprint, from material selection, to design, manufacturing, packaging, usage and later recycling.
Realme has teamed up with Treedom to launch a tree-planting initiative, whereby for every GT 2 series phone sold, a tree will be planted. In less than two years, the carbon dioxide used for making one smartphone will be totally offset.
